The goal of this letter is to provide you the sufficient force of courage to allow you a true studies return. I understand by returning to learn at schools, outward journey to seek the formation which will allow you to work in the field that the blooming of your future aspires. Just like me, your course will be probably strewn with obstacles. For this reason you must seize the true direction which the force of courage must take.

I remember my return to school at the CENTER OF FORMATION ST-MICHEL, 135 King street west, Sherbrooke in spring 1992. It was to obtain my training in Chemistry Grade IV & V, in order to be accepted in Animal Health Technique to the COLLEGE OF SHERBROOKE, 475, street Park, Sherbrooke. However, after having begun my courses of chemistry, I send my inscription to the attention of Monique Lasnier, responsible for the individual teaching assistance of this technique to the COLLEGE OF SHERBROOKE. In spite of the fact that I was on the way of an unquestionable success in Chemistry of the high school, I was refused at the first turn of selection. Equipped with a firm perseverance, I do not await for the result of the second turn. I go rather to the office of Monique Lasnier to ask it to her the reason of this refusal:

Monique Lasnier:

an academic result obtained in the CENTER OF FORMATION ST-MICHEL should be reduce from 15 to 20%, in order to be comparable with a result obtained in regular formation of day full-time. And that even if I obtained the necessary results, taking into account this distinction. That I had no chance to start the school on the following autumn, because my training in chemistry was not finished at the time of my inscription. She sensitized me with the fact that the hardiest part of the program would be the two courses of chemistry of the collegial one.

Serge Lacombe:

I answered her that my training in chemistry of the high school was not finished at the time of my inscription. As even the students in regular day school formation.

After this discussion, I went directly to the office of the Director of the CENTER OF FORMATION ST-MICHEL. With the force of courage that I had, I sensitized the director with the attitude of Monique Lasnier towards the center which he directed. I was 34 years old and lets me say to you that I found the words to cause the change, i.e. the acceptance of my inscription in Animal Health Technique for the autumn 1992. It was for me the beginning of my future.

In this day of January 1995, I cannot overlook my personal advance. After being evaluated comparatively with the students come from the regular high school. Since Monique Lasnier had put to me with the fact that the chemistry of collegial would be the hardiest part of any student registered in this technical. I am forced to admit that she was right partially. More of the third of the students failed one or the other  courses of chemistry of the collegial level. In spite of the fact of my obstacles, I was the only one from a formation to the adults, I succeeded were others failed. I will be graduate as technician in Animal Health in spring 95. At the time to write this line, there remain for me five weeks of theory, one week of evaluation, five weeks in clinical training course and five weeks in training course of research. It is for me only one simple formality. With the provided effort, I am already ensured of a most promising future.

I dare to expect that this letter will make it possible to people concerned to cease all discrimination towards the students who had decided one day to quit, who like Marie-France, one day decides to go back there. And will be appropriate of it to you as me that rare are people who are able to disturb everything on their passage, to write and sign their writing.

As a good hearer, Hello...
